Staying in Touch
A church is a community of people who support one another and participate together in a common mission. At it's heart, a church is a community of people who do life together. Coming together for an event or two per week does not make a community. For this reason, we have a need to stay connected throughout the week. Here are some ways that you can stay connected with the community that is Christ Community Church.

Martha Calls
Martha Calls are recorded phone calls, less than one minute in length, that normally take place on Saturday mornings telling you about what is happing over the weekend. Occasionally, Martha calls are used for other quick, emergency communication, such as notification of a death in the Christ Community Church family.

"Martha Calls" are named for the Martha in the Bible who worked while her sister, Mary, enjoyed spending time with Jesus. "Martha" works away on her own to keep our church family informed.

You choose which phone on which you would like to receive calls, and you can choose to receive the calls on multiple phones. For example, different members of your family may each desire to get a call on their own cell phones plus a call to your home phone. If you've heard it once, Martha doesn't mind if you hang up on her.

To add, remove, or change your phone number, send an email to this link (please put "Martha Call" in the subject line). Or you can call the church office at 436-4735.

Twitter Text Messages
Twitter is a social networking website that allows users to send out text messages to the cell phones of those who subscribe to one's feed. At Christ Community Church, we have come to rely on Twitter extensively.

A Twitter text message is limited to 140 characters, and we can send out quick information bursts of interest to the church family. Topics for Twitter messages include the menu for Community Cafe, when someone has gone to the hospital, event reminders, etc. You can see the last few Twitter messages below. The beauty of Twitter is that it is distributed immediately to everyone at the same time, and that most of us have our cell phones with us most of the time.

You can sign up for the church's Twitter feeds on your own through Twitter's website if you are technologically savy. You can find Twitter at this link. The church's user name is "CCCLC," and you can see the church's Twitter page here. The process is somewhat complicated, and if you would like assistance, we have a volunteer who will help you by sending an email to this link (please place "Twitter Sign Up" in the subject line).

"Work Flow" of Information
Most of our ministry leaders post information first on our blog, and church calendar. Then information generally flows to other forms of communication. Keep up with the blog and the calendar, and you will stay informed on what's happening!
